Our Story: From Passion to Precision
Woodsy Engineering Ltd kicked off in July 2014, founded by Brad Wood. My journey into engineering started with a spark of interest at school, leading to a year at Putaruru Welding. From there, I honed my skills through an apprenticeship at South Waikato Precision Engineering.
That experience was a launchpad, with dedicated training pushing me to compete at the World Skills level in London in 2011 – an incredible milestone that solidified my passion for the craft.
The dream of owning my own business was always there. When the chance to acquire Putaruru Welding arose, it felt like the right moment. The local farming and forestry industries were booming, and there was a clear need for dedicated engineering services to support their growth. We stepped up to fill that role, and haven't looked back!
Our Home Base: Tokoroa
You'll find us in Tokoroa, right in the heart of the North Island. We're situated at the south end of town, just behind the Z truck stop – and yes, if you ask around, you might hear, "Oh, Woodsy's? The place with the awesome chicken sheds?" (We do make some pretty great ones!)
Our central location is a real asset, making it easy for us to collaborate with larger companies on their local contracts and serve our diverse clientele throughout the region.
